Indian Consulate in Colombo, Sri Lanka

Though relations between India and Sri Lanka have existed for more than 2500 years, formal diplomatic relations between India and Sri Lanka were established in 1948 soon after the independence of Sri Lanka.

The High Commission of India in Colombo represents the Government of India in Sri Lanka and promotes relations in all spheres between the two countries and their peoples.
