The American Corner Jaffna

The American Conrner is a partnership between the Public Affairs section of the U. S. Embassy Colombo and the host institution, Jaffna Social Action Center (JSAC).
The AC was established for educational and cultural programs especially for Jaffna youth. Many resources such as books, periodicals, multimedia collections, EducationUSA materials for higher education, U.S. government materials, films, documentaries and Internet access are available for students free of charge. The AC hosts regular programs such as English teaching for A’L students, chat club for improving English communication skills, youth forum working on community programs, sports events to foster ethnic reconciliation, environment related programs and many more. In addition, the AC has computers with electronic equipment and access to eLibraryUSA which has a large number of databases, electronic books and educational material for the benefit of students.
