Train services on main line normalized says SLR

Sri Lanka Railways says that train services on the main line have now returned to normal.

The services were disrupted early this morning when a container collided with a train at the Hunupitiya level crossing in Wattala.

The Main Control Room of the SLR said that the container had entered the level crossing disregarding the signals.

However, nobody was injured in the mishap.

Meanwhile, the work to remove a tree that had fallen across the rail track near the Baseline Railway Station is still underway.

Train services on the Kelani Valley line are affected as a result.
