Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the rose 0.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:), which rose 14.34% or 7.40 points to trade at 59.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:) was up 10.38% or 120.40 points to 1280.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:), which fell 9.52% or 20.00 points to trade at 190.10 at the close. Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:) declined 7.14% or 0.10 points to end at 1.30 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:) was down 6.67% or 0.50 points to 7.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 65 and 74 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $52.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $58.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.67 to trade at $1279.67 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.33% to 203.170, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 153.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.58.
