Petrol scarcity to end as unloading of petroleum begins



The wait for reports on the stock of petrol which arrived in Sri Lanka aboard the ‘Neverska Lady’ vessel has ended.The fuel shipment is currently being unloaded, though it was scheduled to be unloaded later today at 4 pm.

An additional 1500 metric tonnes of petrol was distributed to filling stations to avoid a scarcity, the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited said.

According to the Managing Director of Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal, sufficient stocks of petrol have been distributed to filling stations.

Petrol that was distributed thus far was from the existing reserves at the storage terminal.
