The hotel focuses on higher end dining, with prices to match. Ingredients are fresh and the menu is fairly diverse – think sandwiches, pasta, grilled meats, Asian dishes and seafood. Flambé is a house speciality, and dishes are cooked in front of you; the four-course flambé set menu is indulgent yet good value as it includes a salad, soup, main (fish, meat or seafood), trio of desserts and a glass of wine.
You can opt for a western or a Sri Lankan breakfast – the latter is excellent, and includes quite a few curries and sides so it’s like a mini taster buffet. The hotel has just expanded its wine selection (chosen by their in-house sommelier), and has a full bar; the best spot for sundowners is on one of the inviting sea-gazing chairs-for-two in the garden.
