The Central Environmental Authority has announced the construction activities of a road along the Western slope of the Hantana reserve, have been temporarily stopped.
The Road Development Authority commenced the project on December 12, 2015. The movement to protect the Hantana reserve, noted that the construction began without proper approvals.
The project commenced with the funds of the Asian Development Bank. The cost of the project was estimated at Rs. 98 million. News1st reported on how several roads within the Colombo city limits are at a dilapidated state.
